Only an hour from Queenstown and just minutes from Wanaka, and surrounded by mountain, river and vineyard views, Aoturoa is an exclusive haven. A place for peaceful indulgence - one of those rare finds. According to owners Lesley and Jon Davies, "it's the best place in the world to replenish what the pressures of everyday living have squeezed out of you". Aoturoa means "World of light" in the Maori language. With snow on the peaks of the mountain ranges turned pink by the early morning sun, the twilight on summer evenings lingering for hours after the last sun has left the chalky river bluffs, Aoturoa seems aptly named. Tucked away at the end of a long drive in total privacy, Aoturoa is a beautiful villa. Purpose built, it is in harmony with the backdrop of meadow and river bluff and designed to offer absolute comfort for a handful of guests while they enjoy the experience of the Upper Clutha valley.
