Including A J Hacket Bungy centre, Arrowtown, Lake Wakatipu, then enjoy a light lunch with your drink of choice. Queenstown isn’t the only place for craft beer tours with the capital city Wellington offering many more options for craft beer enthusiasts.
Sometimes also known as a flying fox, ziplining is an exciting and fun way to see some incredible New Zealand scenery and locations. Paradise Zip Lines in Glenorchy, near Queenstown is probably one of the most scenic locations to enjoy this exhilarating activity. There are over 1,000 meters of zip-lines to enjoy. Beginning with an easy walk through red beech forests to the first zip-line, which commences off a cliff travelling high above the area of Paradise. The rest of the lines follow alpine streams with views over to snow capped mountains and native New Zealand forests, showcasing Lord of the Rings scenery. There is a minimum age of 10 years, a minimum weight of 30kg and a maximum weight of 125kg.
New Zealand offers some innovative kayaking options, from sea kayaking adventures, to rivers and lakes. A unique kayaking option is the Lake Rotoiti Starlight Kayaking Experience, located in New Zealand’s central north island, near Rotorua.
Your evening starts with a BBQ dinner on the shores of the lake with fresh local food, which may include wild venison sausages and salmon, washed down with local wines or beer. Then take an evening paddle across Lake Rotoiti through some of the stunning waterways listening to tales of Maori myths and legends as you kayak by moonlight to the glow worm caves. At the end of the trip enjoy some time in the natural thermal hot pools at Manupirua. A really magical and fun way to spend an evening.
If you enjoy mountain biking you’ll love this new experience from Delta Discoveries in Glenorchy, Queenstown. Take a new 2018 Haibike Xduro Fatsix 9.0 E-MTB out for a spin and experience 50km of New Zealand’s backcountry trails. Travel along dirt and gravel roads, a varied route of river beds and forests, with mountain and lake views. The views are picture postcard and will take your breath away. Perfect for a family vacation or adventure!
This tour is only suitable for active and experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness and coordination. The route can be quite challenging, and although the bike is doing all the hard work up the hills, 50 kilometres off-road is far enough to make you very saddle sore if you are not used to mountain biking! Minimum age 16, minimum height 157 cm (5ft 2 in) and a maximum weight of 120kg.
For those looking for an urban electric bike experience, Auckland has some unique tours that will expose you to the many different aspects of New Zealand’s largest City. Contact us for more information if you would like to include an urban bike experience into your itinerary?
The cliffs of Cape Kidnappers in the Hawkes Bay have been home to a colony of gannets since 1870. Over 20,000 of these birds visit this area between September and April every year. They come to build their nests and birth their chicks, and stay until flying off to warmer climates for winter. There are a couple of tour options to see the gannet colonies. One pretty unique way is with Gannet Beach Adventures – visitors get to travel at low tide by tractor and tailor along the beach, and get close to the birds for great photograph opportunities. The tour allows time for a walk and swim in this beautiful area.
