Bounding on the back of the sell-out success of the KI Food Safari 2012, Southern Ocean Lodge in partnership with Australian Gourmet Traveller announces a second program in the food safari series, this time heating it up with an Asian twist.

KI Food Safari II takes a hop to the east and welcomes two new dynamic chefs who lead the way in bringing fresh Asian cuisine to Australia; Sydney’s longstanding culinary leader and founder of Long- and now Shortgrain in Surry Hills, Martin Boetz; and bringing an infectious laugh and refined approach to contemporary Asian cooking is South Australia’s MasterChef standout, Poh Ling Yeow.

In what promises to be a fun and zesty culinary journey, Martin and Poh will join Southern Ocean Lodge’s own Chef Tim Bourke and together lead the KI Food Safari on a discovery of Asian-fusion cuisine, Kangaroo Island-style, from 1-7 September 2012.

KI Food Safari II brings the best of Kangaroo Island’s produce including snapping-fresh seafood, sustainably produced grains and free-range chicken, lamb and pork, and partners them perfectly with the zing, heat and fresh flavours that have made Asian-style cuisine such a popular dining favourite in restaurants and homes around Australia.

Included in the KI Food Safari II six-night itinerary are all the hands-on fun and learning in visits to the island’s growers, farms and fields on this growing fine food destination, this time with an exotic twist. Back at the Lodge, guests feel the heat in the kitchen with personal master classes lead by Poh, Martin and Tim.
