description

The Tongariro National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its stunning beauty and cultural significance. It is incredibly special to all people who call this region home and we hope you get to visit it in person. But nothing can compare with the unparalleled views you get from taking a helicopter flight over it! It is simply stunning and our pilots never give up a chance to share it with our visitors. The park encompasses an extraordinary and dramatic landscape characterised by volcanic peaks, craters and crater lakes, rugged alpine terrains, and steam vents. The three active volcanic mountains, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu, each have their own distinct beauty and landscape, and their own stories – both historic and modern. To reach the National Park you will get stunning views of Lake Taupo as we fly over Taupo township , Whangamata Bay and track down the more remote Western side of the Lake. You will get expansive views of our three stunning mountains and the surrounding valleys, plateaus and landscapes along with the Red Crater, Emerald Lakes and the Ketetahi Hot Springs. Mount Ruapehu New Zealand’s highest volcano is clear, we will get views into her active crater lake which sits at an impressive 9200ft. With approximately 60-70 minutes flight time you will feel transported into another world with endless photograph opportunities. It is our privilege to share this special landscape with you, the views will not disappoint. This is a truly spectacular flight.
