Sample rural New Zealand at its best: off the beaten track and in one of the world’s most spectacular coastal locations lies Annandale, a 4000-acre sheep and cattle farm that offers exclusive use of four distinctive luxury villas with relaxed Kiwi-style informality. Annandale offers guests an opportunity to relax in total privacy and make the experience their own – explore the spectacular farm with its 10 Kilometers of coastline and connect with the surroundings, share precious time with family and friends, and indulge in the finest local produce.
Set amid a rugged landscape of hills and bays on Banks Peninsula, only an hour’s drive from the city of Christchurch on New Zealand’s South Island, the historic farm features a restored five-bedroom homestead with magnificent gardens and state-of-the-art recreation facilities, including infinity pool, spa pool and tennis court. The three other private and secluded villas each have their own distinct character: the romance and contemporary architecture of Seascape in its own bay, the historic hilltop charm of Shepherd’s Cottage, and the stunning seaside location of Scrubby Bay, a large cedar-clad beach house for gatherings of up to 14 people.
The homestead was built in the 1880s, and the Annandale has been lovingly restored to create a luxurious five-bedroom home in a private and tranquil setting. Elegant rooms, shaded verandas, well-kept gardens and exclusive use of our outdoor leisure facilities make the house a great place for relaxation and reflection. We want you to feel the strong sense of belonging that Annandale evokes, so we encourage you to make it your home for the duration of your stay. You won’t find any Keep Out signs here… you are welcome to roam and explore at will: cut a few flowers from the borders and some salad leaves from the kitchen garden, grab some lemons for your crepes from one of our trees. It’s all yours and yours alone.
