Golf at Barnbougle Tasmania
Barnbougle Tasmania
description
Dunes & Lost Farm are two of Barnbougle’s Links Golf Courses unlike any other in Australia. Meandering along Tasmania’s dramatic North East coast, it’s where breath-taking scenery and thrilling golf truly come together.

The recipient of global accolades, Barnbougle Dunes was designed by U.S Golf visionary Tom Doak and Australian Mike Clayton to channel the traditional links courses of Scotland and Ireland.

Barnbougle Lost Farm is a 20 hole Links Golf course on Tasmania’s North East Coast. Officially opened on 10 December 2010, Lost Farm sits adjacent to The Dunes, which opened in December 2004. Designed and built by world-renowned US golf course design company Coore & Crenshaw, Lost Farm has quickly captured the attention of international golfers of all abilities.

These courses are often ranked side by side in the top 5 Golf courses in Australia and the South Pacific year on year.

A fun, challenging addition to Barnbougle’s two world top 100 courses, Bougle Run is designed for golfers of all abilities and the perfect option to sate your golf appetite in just 90 minutes. Designed by internationally acclaimed Golf Architect Bill Coore, Bougle Run’s 14 holes consist of 12 par-3’s and two par 4’s which sit on the tall, undulating coastal dunes between Lost Farm’s front and back 9.

The route, which includes some of the highest points of the entire Barnbougle complex, is set slightly back from the coastline, providing aerial-like views over the Lost Farm Course and Anderson’s Bay.

Golf at the Barnbougle is a game of strategy, where each shot requires tactical thought and a little creativity can be rewarding.

Barnbougle is the closest thing to a seaside links as exists in Australia. The holes are routed through the dunes, some as high as 100 feet. It is an odd day when there isn’t a zesty breeze to contend with, normally from the west which means you head into it immediately. The fairways are smart enough but not over cultured. They retain every warp and fold of the land on which they were placed and a few more besides. Many of the greens flow in a continuation of the surrounding land.
