Hawkes Bay Farm Tour (privately guided): During this privately guided tour experience this amazing 140-year old sheep and cattle station at Clifton Beach, which has been in the same family for five generations. Soak up the beautiful views after walking through the coastal garden farm buildings and old wool shed. Be intrigued at how the sheep dogs work, rounding up the sheep and bringing them into the yards. Lahar Farm, Tongariro National Park: This is a great opportunity to see a working farm and or tour the property via 4wd right next to the rugged Tongariro National Park where parts of Lord of the Rings was filmed. The 600 hectare / 1,500 acre Lahar farm is nestled at the foot hills of Mt Ruapehu and is worth visiting for the scenery alone. There is also a lake with Rainbow trout if you wanted to try your hand at fishing.

South Island Farm Tours

South Island High Country Farm Tour (privately guided): Experience the Queenstown high country with this discovery tour. This tour will take you to farmland with majestic views of the valley and Diamond Lake. Enjoy an easy nature walk through the bush and ancient forest. Glen Dene Farm: In the high country of Wanaka experience Glen Dene Farm. Explore the Glen Dene Station, which is a fully operating sheep, cattle and deer farm. With views out to Lake Hawea this is a picturesque day tour well worth adding to your itinerary if in the Wanaka region. The day will include a walk through the farmland and ancient ‘dinosaur’ forest. Enjoy the shearing shed experience and feel the softness and lanolin smell of merino wool. This is a tour for the whole family.
