Awaroa Lodge was originally built in 1991 to offer New Zealand and international travellers the opportunity to experience a unique national park and beach destination. In realising this dream it was agreed to ‘touch the earth lightly’ and preserve the authenticity of a unique and beautiful location, set on 19 hectares of private land surrounded by Abel Tasman national park. Awaroa Lodge has recently been awarded 4 star Silver Qualmark status. Sustainable tourism has remained at the forefront of thinking, reflected in the significant wetland enhancement process, and the commitment to environmentally friendly business practice. Each suite has a king bed and a comfortable pull-out couch to sleep up to three people per room. Spacious shower and/or bath in the en suite, plus private outdoor decks and views to Awaroa wetland and native bush.
