Type I plug for Australia and New Zealand
Type I plug for Australia and New Zealand

New Zealand, Australia and Fiji use different power plugs to the rest of the world. Australasia’s power outlets accept power plugs with 3 flat pins. 1 of which is an earthing pin (this is simply a safety measure). Some power plugs don’t have the earthing pin but they still fit into the power outlets. Technically it’s referred to as a Type I power plug and outlet. Further information can be found on the World Standards Website.

You can easily purchase an adapter locally here or alternatively bring one from home.
