Cedar Creek Falls
Located 19 kilometres from Proserpine on Conway Beach Road is the picturesque Cedar Creek Falls. These falls are spectacular in the wet season and offer a year-round natural swimming pool at the base of the falls. They are set in a natural rock amphitheatre. The flora and fauna will amaze you, particularly the strangler figs, red and white cedars and wild orchids. There are also bush walks up and around the falls. Majestic Alexandra palms line the creek as it continues its journey to the ocean.
Great Barrier Reef
One of the top reasons people visit the far north of Australia is to experience the Great Barrier Reef. The amazing array of marine wildlife and exotic colours cannot be found elsewhere in the world with the ease this region affords. Cairns offers an ideal hub for trips to the reef. Some of the most exotic and rare diving and snorkelling in the world are a short distance from the city of Cairns, courtesy of dozens of reef tour companies. This exotic playground twice the size of Tasmania, is waiting to be explored.
Peter Faust Dam
Lake Proserpine, which is also known as Peter Faust Dam is situated 26 kilometres inland from Proserpine, which is located within Central Queensland. Proserpine is also just a short drive from Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour the gateway to the famous Whitsunday Islands and The Great Barrier Reef. Lake Proserpine plays host to some of the biggest Barramundi and Sooty Grunter found in impoundment’s in Australia, making it the ideal sport fishing destination.
