When we arrived for our dinner reservation at the Kanavata Restaurant, we were greeted by the friendly staff and taken to our seats while a couple of the Fijian lads played songs on the guitar and sung in the background. There was a nice vibe and a relaxed atmosphere when dining. The resort’s executive chefs use fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create dishes that are both flavourful and nutritious. The menu had something for everyone and each meal had a suggested wine to accompany it. I had the prawns (which were delicious) and Dee had the chicken. You can dine inside or out and the restaurant has views heading out to the ocean. You will not eat anything more fresh and delicious if you enjoy seafood. The fresh fish and seafood which is caught daily is phenomenal, and I would urge you to try as much as possible.

The resort also offers unique dining experiences such as the ‘Sunset Tapas,’ where you have a selection of tapas and cocktails while watching the sun set over the lagoon. Additionally, the weekly ‘Fijian Lovo’ night provides an opportunity to taste traditional Fijian dishes cooked in an earth oven, accompanied by cultural performances that offer further insight into the local heritage. You can opt for a more intimate dining experience in your villa, on the beach or even with a private chef, high up in the branches of a 70 year old Fijian Dilo tree!
