Francis and Benny from World

Huka Lodge has invited some recognised experts to engage with you and share their incredible knowledge and passion for their individual areas of specialist expertise.

Designer Nat Cheshire has strong opinions to share about the city of Auckland – insightful and challenging commentary on the transformations this city has undergone and the mechanisms of change that has driven this, including the transformation of architecture that this new direction has necessitated. Nat will also communicate his vision and understanding of how the immediate future for the city of Auckland should look, and engage us in what we must contribute to realising the full potential of such a future. Nat presents an illustrated talk, exploring the theme of ‘The Restless City’.

Francis Hooper and Benny Castles are two of the Directors, along with Denise L’Estrange-Corbert, of WORLD, New Zealand’s most iconic and avant garde fashion house and retailer.

Since the mid-nineties WORLD has presented and introduced some of the most revolutionary and exciting perfumes to New Zealanders. Eight years ago, WORLD took the bold step of expanding their retail empire to include a stand alone WORLD Beauty Store. Now, through their six WORLD Beauty Stores, they collectively offer the most exclusive niche collection of fragrances in New Zealand.

With fragrances created by perfume houses that date back to the 17th century, stunningly complemented by brands only recently created, Francis and Benny intend to entertain you with erudition and intrigue as they skilfully guide your olfactory senses across a carefully curated collection of fragrances.

Perfumes that have been exquisitely created by houses such as Creed, Amouage, Robert Piguet, Arquiste, Lubin, Nasomatto and Cire Trudon will be presented during two workshops led by Francis and Benny – one with a focus on fragrance for women and the other on those best worn by men. Enjoy this unique opportunity to sample, discuss and learn while taking a journey around the fragrance wheel, during the Celebrate the Art of Living weekend at Huka Lodge.

Huka Lodge Executive Chef, Paul Froggatt, will present one of his informative and inspirational cooking demonstrations while skilfully sharing his best tips and culinary secrets.

Amazing floral designer Davina Prankherd is the creative force behind the extraordinary creations we always associate with Vida Flores. Davina will talk about the influence that the latest international fashion and design trends have on the development of her very individual style of floral design.

Aston Martin is passionate about the cars it produces and we know this is a feeling also shared by their enthusiastic owners. All of their sports cars continue to be hand-built and bespoke while also embracing the use of high technology processes. This ethos goes right back to 1914 and the very beginnings of the company when founders, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, believed that a sports car should have a distinctive and individual character. They felt it should be built to the highest standards and be exhilarating to drive and own.

An Aston Martin combines three important elements: power, beauty and soul. Aston Martins are truly special – they always have been and always will be. Take the opportunity to test-drive one Aston Martin’s latest model cars during the weekend and see all this for yourself.

Enjoy being able to test-drive some of Aston Martin’s latest sports cars while at Huka Lodge and gain further insight into this glamorous brand and its unique design elements from their guest speaker.
