Lime Tree Lodge, Wanaka
Lime Tree Lodge, Wanaka

On a recent visit to Wanaka, I was lucky enough to be invited to spend a night at Lime Tree Lodge. A wonderful boutique lodge, set on a 10 acre site, and only a 10 minute drive from Wanaka’s cafes and restaurants. The lodge is owned by Pauline & John who are wonderfully warm and inviting hosts. Arriving at the lodge late in the afternoon, we were warmly welcomed, then shown our room in the lovely Linden Suite. The suite has a fresh contemporary feel, a spacious bedroom, bathroom and lounge. Not to mention the expansive veranda and garden area with alpine views.

Lime Tree Lodge Facilities

The lodge has a sunny pool area and hot tub. We took a bottle of local Otago bubbles, pool side and spent a relaxing couple of hours by the pool. Afterwards we returned to the lodge and were greeted by a sample platter of local cheeses, accompanied by a bottle of Central Otago Pinot.

Breakfasts & Home Baking

Tariffs at Lime Tree include freshly-prepared breakfast. Additionally complimentary aperitifs in the evening. All day tea and coffee, home-baking and fresh fruit. As well as unlimited internet access and a courtesy transfer into Wanaka. Likewise evening meals can also be arranged given prior notice. We had an early start the next day as we were heading over to Makarora for the Siberia Experience. So it was an early night for us, followed by a delicious breakfast in the morning.

Yours Hosts

Pauline and John previously owned and operated a Merino high country sheep farm, Kaiwarua Station. Equally they are both down to earth warm people with plenty of stories to tell and offer genuine Kiwi Southern Hospitality. We wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks to John & Pauline, of Limetree Lodge for making our stay special.
