What are the different accommodation options at Clearwater Resort? The different accommodation options include:

Lakeview Suite; The beautifully appointed Lakeview Suite offers a large separate living area with sensational views from the balcony or courtyard. Facilities include full kitchen and laundry facilities and a carport. Bedding configurations can be made up of one king or two single beds. 

The Lakefront Suite; spreads over two levels offering a spacious lounge, kitchenette, shared laundry facilities, garage and an outdoor deck overlooking the sparkling lake and golf course. Bedding configurations can be made up of one king or two single beds. 

The Quay Suite; is a one bedroom suite boasting chic design with a soaker shower, full kitchen and laundry facilities. Bedding configurations can be made up of one king or two single beds.

The Lakeside Villa; consists of an interconnecting Lakefront Suite and Lakeside Room. The comfortable villa offers a kitchenette, laundry facilities, garage, outdoor deck and balcony with beautiful views over the lake. Bedding configurations can be made up of two king and four single beds.

Terrace Apartment; Catering for up to four people, the Terrace Apartment provides two bedrooms and stunning indoor and outdoor entertaining areas. Bedding configurations consist of two king beds or a king and two single beds

The Quay Villa; consists of three interconnecting rooms; one Quay Suite and two Quay Rooms. Villas boasts full kitchen and laundry facilities, a private jetty and balcony to enjoy the stunning views. Bedding configurations consist of two king and one queen or one queen and four single beds.

Tell us about the design of the golf course at Clearwater Resort The golf course was designed by John Darby in consultation with New Zealand golfing legend, Sir Bob Charles, the golf course at Peppers Clearwater Resort combines elements inspired by the great Scottish courses, reminiscent of Florida. Playable year-round, the course meanders around a succession of spring-fed lakes and trout-filled streams, with uninterrupted views of the spectacular Southern Alps.

What major championships past and present have been help at Clearwater Resort? The Clearwater Golf Course has proven itself as a venue for international professional golf over 12 consecutive years, yet it offers a fair challenge to all visitors from the six tee choices. Some of the more recent championships include the NZ PGA Championship, BMW New Zealand Open and ISPS Handa NZ Women’s Open.

Which well-known golf pros have played at Clearwater? Most recently, World number 1 New Zealand star Lydia Ko played and won the 2015 ISPS Handa NZ Women’s Open at Clearwater.

Can you offer golf lessons and courses at Clearwater? Clearwater Golf Club offers superb facilities for learning to play golf or working on game improvement. You may choose to be coached individually or as part of one of the group programs.  Lessons may be conducted on one of the practice facilities at Clearwater Golf Club or you may choose a playing lesson on the course itself which will help with course management and etiquette as well as technique issues.

Many of our international clients do not travel with their own golf clubs, what are the options for equipment rental? At Clearwater there is a fully stocked golf shop, with golf club hire and electric carts.

As well as golf the Clearwater resort also offer fly fishing on site, could you describe the options available? The resort offers an abundance of brown and rainbow trout in the various lakes and streams that meander around the resort. The Local fly fishing instructor and guide can offer comprehensive practical lessons, equipment, licenses and offsite expeditions if you seek more thrill and adventure.

What other on site facilities and activities are offered at Clearwater Resort? At this stunning Christchurch resort you can choose to do as little or as much as you like all within the boundaries of our premises. Nine kilometres of extensive walking and cycling trails are also set within 465 acres of rural tranquillity that surrounds the resort. Fly-fishing, tennis, cycling and strolling the extensive walking trails are other pleasant pastimes you’ll enjoy with the beautiful Southern Alps as your backdrop.

What top three activities in the Christchurch area would you recommend to our clients with 3 days in the area? See the sights in the city – Take The Grand Tour and board a luxury coach for a quality tour of Christchurch. You will visit beautiful parks and gardens, quaint seaside suburbs and stunning harbour views. The tour also includes Christchurch Tram, Gondola and Punting. Enjoy an authentic Maori cultural experience (Ko Tane the Maori experience), where you’ll be greeted with a traditional powhiri (greeting), treated to a cultural performance/show and where you’ll be able to explore a living village and wildlife reserve. Indulge in a A Taste of New Zealand Dinner. Ko Tane is located at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve. Go for a drive to Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa, just 90 minutes from Christchurch, offers the ultimate in relaxation and is an experience not to be missed. Set in a breathtaking natural landscape, surrounded by forests and mountains, the award-winning Thermal Pools offers visitors a wide range of experiences, from soothing indulgence to exciting family fun. The Thermal Pools & Spa has nine open-air thermal pools, three sulphur pools and four private thermal pools, as well as a sauna/steam room.

Clearwater has a restaurant on site, what style of food is offered here? Overlooking the Kaikainui Lake and the 18th green, The Lakes Restaurant offers a relaxed and casual restaurant setting in Christchurch. Clearwater is in a great location close to Christchurch airport, what else does the surrounding area have to offer? There are many activities, experiences and scenic attractions suitable for all ages in the surrounding areas. Discover the region’s pristine rivers, ideal for fishing, whitewater rafting, jet boating, horse riding or kayaking in the south. Venture further afield to see how the heart of the city, Cashel Mall, has been reborn in ultra-modern fashion with containers recast as boutiques, lovingly styled and bursting with colour. Boating, tramping, a visit to the wineries and the French settlers’ harbour-side village of Akaroa on the east coast, are also key Peninsula attractions, as well as Mount Hutt, which lies to the south west of Christchurch.
