The house is built of local paddock rock with big doors, big walls and big spaces inside and out. The original building, circa 1888 is believed to have been built by the Chinese who landed on the beaches of Robe and worked their way to the goldfields of Victoria. The property is now a working 280 acre farm with cattle, sheep, herb and vegetable garden and chickens, of course. Fayrefield is sustainable. We harvest the sun for our energy, the sky for our water and the fields for our food.
