The Powderhorn Chateau is the perfect base for those visiting Tongariro National Park either for hiking, skiing or just relaxing. This alpine lodge is located only minutes from the Old Coach Road cycle and walkway, 40 minutes from the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and 30 minutes from Pipiriki the starting point for trips on the Whanganui River. At the lodge stay in hotel suites, or the self contained apartment which can accommodate up to 8 people. The Powderhorn has lots of little luxuries to make your stay as pleasant as possible with an indoor hot pool - there is no better way to unwind after a day on the slopes. There is alos an in house ski and snowboard store where guests receive a discount and professional help.
