The Coromandel Peninsula is a playground for adventurers and pleasure seekers alike. The area surrounding Shakespeare Cliff Lodge and Retreat serves up some of the best on offer in the region. Designed by architect Darren Jessop, Shakespeare Cliff Lodge & Retreat was built in 2000 and features extensive use of exposed timber and European fittings. The interior was designed by Maggie Bryson, assisted by Alex Morcom. With more than 450m2 of floor space and another 200m2 of deck and patio area, the lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people with additional beach front accommodation utilised for larger corporate groups.

The Shakespeare Cliff Lodge Cooking School can turn on a live-in culinary education experience that you’ll never forget. Discover recipes, techniques and entertaining tips that will lift your cooking confidence to the next level. Shakespeare Cliff Lodge also hosts retreats on both a physical and a spiritual level. Choose from either a group yoga weekend or a boot camp to kick start your body and mind back into life – both of these retreats are done in the lap of luxury with great food, wine and excellent company. After all, it’s about balance!

Facilities: Enjoy the media room with Audio and video entertainment complete with 42” plasma screen, Sky TV, hi-fidelity sound system and gaming consoles. In the library there are sumptuous leather chairs, roaring open fire, views out over Mercury Bay, the library is the ideal place to read, relax or focus on business. Pure old world decadence. The meditation room is a quiet space for peace, reflection and complete relaxation. Massages are available here during wellness retreats. Relax in the 10 hot tub, or enjoy dining on the deck.
