Eichardt’s Lakefront Cottage is just a few paces away from Eichardt’s Private Hotel and has stunning views of Lake Wakatipu and nearby mountain ranges. Launched in September 2008, the cottage has been designed to blend with the historic character of the waterfront, home to Queenstown’s oldest original building and a Victorian bathhouse. Eichardt’s Lakefront Cottage comprises four two-bedroom suites offering visitors flexible and luxurious accommodation, each with stunning lake and mountain views. The interior design was masterminded by acclaimed New Zealander Virginia Fisher, recently named one of the top five hotel interior designers worldwide by Time Magazine. The cottage is perfect for larger parties, families, professionals and longer staying guests. The split-level suites are interconnected and can be opened to become a large single accommodation space, or sectioned off for smaller groups.

Each suite is spacious and airy, illuminated with natural light, and upper floor roofs have sunny skylights with electric shutters. A compact and well-equipped kitchen with microwave and hob enables relaxing ‘at home’ dining or entertainment. One ground floor suite features a warm and fully furnished sunroom overlooking the lake, which effectively doubles the living area by adding another entirely separate and sun-filled haven. From comfortable wicker chairs, guests can enjoy the cottage garden and lake views. Roaring gas fires set in schist fireplaces add a cosy touch. Majestic vistas over the lake and mountains and luxuriously-appointed amenities give the Lakefront Cottage all the comfort and style of a home-away-from-home while guests enjoy full use of all Eichardt’s Hotel facilities, including concierge services, literally just a few steps away.

If a reservation is cancelled and in the event that we are unable to replace the booking, the following applies: Within 30 days of the visit, a 25 percent charge of the total stay applies. Within seven days, or for no-shows, the full tariff will be incurred.
