This 5-star, private luxury lodge at the edge of Lake Taupo has been thoughtfully designed for the comfort and pleasure of the guests. With the secluded surroundings and only four bedrooms, privacy is assured. Views over Lake Taupo and Mt. Tauhara, the spacious lounge area with Finnish soap-stone log fire can be enjoyed with pastimes such as a game of chess, reading, or enjoying a glass of fine wine. Chalet Eiger lodge is outfitted with many little technical details that help you switch off from every-day life, such as easy listening music preferences and personal mood lighting adjustments. Additional facilities at Chalet Eiger include a sauna and a state-of-the-art digital home-theatre system complete with big screen plasma TV. Portable or laptop computers can be plugged directly into the plasma TV allowing big screen viewing of documents or pictures of your day fishing.

The Lake Taupo area is a truly inspiring place. The landscape is formed by volcanic action in the past, creating a wonderful natural sight of mountains, thermal wonderland and the stunning, clear freshwater lake known as Lake Taupo. It is one of New Zealand's recreational, cultural, adventure and sightseeing hotspots, offering a wide range of activities. Some of the best trout fishing in the world can be found in this area, while the mighty Tongariro National Park, a World Heritage Area, offers pristine skiing and great hiking and outdoor opportunities. Combined with thermal hot springs and adventure Activities such as sky diving and bungy jumping, Lake Taupo is a genuine unique place. The famous Wairakei Golf course and other 3 golf courses make Lake Taupo a golfer's paradise.

Facilities: Chalet Eiger's four luxury rooms feature individual private decks from which guests can enjoy lake and mountain views. Rooms include super-king or two single-king "Huesler" beds, constructed without using any artificial materials, delivering exceptional quality and comfort to our discerning guests for the best possible night's sleep. Temperature control through controlled air conditioning makes for optimal personal comfort while room lighting is controlled by a graphic eye which creates moods to accommodate guest activities. All rooms include an ensuite bathroom with luxurious bathrobes, under floor heating, toiletries and hairdryer. Three of the suites have large baths as well as walk in showers and a separate toilet. One bath is Spa-hydrotherapy while the other two are dual claw-foot baths. The fourth room comprises a large walk-in shower. Fresh flowers, seasonal fruit, soft drinks (mini bar), a bottle of New Zealand wine, cheese and a selection of teas and coffee with homemade biscuits are included in all rooms to be enjoyed by our guests. Chalet Eiger's multi zone audio-system distributes entertainment to all rooms and is controlled by an in-room LCD keypad. High speed and wireless internet, phone and TV can be installed instantly in all rooms. Laundry service and in-house facilities are available. The rooms in our lodge are named after four fascinating volcanoes in the area.
